Classic 1940's beach Cottage with ocean views and only 100 FEET from front porch to the beach. Most desirable location on Saint Simons Island, just a few blocks from the Village, between 5th & 6th Street off Ocean Blvd. near the Ocean Lodge.
THE SPACE
The interior offers a very comfy and open large living room / dining room, open to the kitchen with a ton of windows which bath the house in natural light. The spectacular views of the ocean are from the living areas, porch and front bedroom. The ocean sunrises are fabulous from the large covered porch that opens to the living area. The queen beds have high end sheets, pillows and down comforters. One bathroom, tub / shower and laundry area with washer and dryer. The kitchen has a large fridge, dishwasher, microwave and new stove. There is a sleeper sofa (queen size) in the living room. The cottage also has central air.
This convenient cottage is close to everything near the beach and pier/village. Lots of character, charming and inviting with white painted bead board on the ceilings and walls and refinished hard wood floors.
In years gone by, families came to St. Simons to the beach and stayed in simple cottages... in beach towns where porch-sitting and strolling were activities at least as important as swimming and sunbathing. It is the luxury of simplicity. Sunlight glowing through white cotton curtains, as they blow into a room… caressed by ocean breezes, a soft rope hammock in the shade of a wide porch… the comfortable elegance of cotton sundresses and sun-bleached straw hats... screened porches and white picket fences... the taste of crabs caught at the ocean's edge…this is Seaside style.
Located on the south end of the Island, St. Simons Pier Village district serves as the downtown social hub and is a popular destination for shopping, dining and gathering on the pier and nearby lighthouse, playground and picnic areas. Overlooking the ocean and Jekyll Island across the way, you'll find the St. Simons Lighthouse and Museum, Neptune Park with its ocean side pool and facilities, playground, miniature golf course, and an oak shaded picnic area, fishing pier, public library and theater.

Pets: This home is dog friendly for dogs 25lbs or less with $150 pet fee, 2 dogs max. Unfortunately we can't host puppies < 1 year old or breeds known to insurance carriers as 'vicious', please ask if you're not sure.
No Smoking: No smoking is allowed in the home, on the porches/patios/decks, or on the property in general.
No Events: No events or parties. No overnight guests beyond the original booking group.

EXCELLENT location- steps from not one, but 2 beach accesses and a 10 minute walk in either direction on Ocean Blvd will get you restaurants and shops (including Pier Village). We enjoyed watching cargo ships float by from the rooftop deck and hearing the waves from the porch. The house was well stocked and management was great to work with. Can't wait to go back!

This property is centrally located to all the great activities on the island. A small beach is just steps away from the front door and since we were there in the off season it was virtually deserted. The rooftop deck provides great views! House is well stocked with all the necessary items for a wonderful vacation. We will definitely consider renting again!
Charming Cottage

I was visiting St Simon's on business, my wife and I spent 17 years in the area until 2020 retirement, so we knew what to expect. The cottage is close to the pier and lighthouse and all that it encompasses. The ocean was just a few feet down a path, and you could hear the wave most of the day. The cottage has a nice second level deck from which you can see the ocean. Do realize this is a cottage not a 5 start beach resort and the building is older, so expect creaky floors and doors that don't close well. Overall, the cottage was clean and everything worked fine. Great for a medium-sized family, with plenty of room.

Great little beach house

My husband, two dogs, and myself stayed at this property for a week in August. The location of the house cannot be beat, its literally less than 60 seconds from the door to feet on the sand. Its also an easy 10 minute walk to the downtown shops and restaurants. The house itself is charming and well lived in. Its clean, but not precious, which is great when you want a pet friendly stay. We loved our stay here and would definitely come back to stay here again! The kitchen is well stocked too, which was a nice surprise to not have to buy extra paper goods, or trash bags, or dishwashing soap.

Nice little house with two beautiful porches (upstairs and downstairs) to sit and enjoy the sounds and views of the ocean. Quiet street where you can feel safe with your family and an easy walk into the lovely St. Simons island village. The inside of the house is nice with plenty of room for 4-8ish people. Literally 50 steps to the beach. Great front porch for hanging out. Hardwood floors and 3 bedroom layout all on the first floor was very convenient. 1940's era but upkeep was good. A/C must have been newer because it worked great. 10minute walk to the shopping and restaurants at the village. First trip to St, Simons and loved it !

Usually, we like to mix up our beach vacations, and try different accommodations around the southeast. However, we find this SSI beach cottage so pleasant and comfortable that it's the one place we enjoy returning to! It's so close to the beach that you practically FEEL beachfront, and we enjoyed every meal on the spacious front porch (this space was especially appreciated since we ordered all our meals through Islandtime contactless delivery). Though it was the first week of June, we were able to stay at least 20-30 feet from other parties out on the sand. Being able to enjoy our vacation with our dog makes it all the more special.

Spectacular view of the beach! Key things to know: within walking distance to GREAT restaurants, the light house, and shopping. The beach access is literally across the street which makes a beach day very easy. It's a dog friendly beach!!! We had so much fun down there seeing all of the happy dogs. It was adorable. It's on a very quiet street with very little traffic. The place is pretty large and the views from the top of the house deck were amazing! Thanks for letting us stay!

We loved this house and the front porch! If you are able to climb steps, the top deck has the best view. Id bring a couple of chairs to leave up their during your stay. The location is perfect. Its across the street to the beach, but you really couldnt be closer with an easier walk. The front porch is gated but doesnt lock. However, it's still a great porch for little ones to run around and play. We had breakfast and dinner on the front porch. The breeze never stopped, so the temp was perfect. The house is very clean. Kitchen is well stocked. The house has everything you need.It is an older original home but its in great condition and very clean. No complaints. We will rent again.

Fabulous little beach house. It was a great location for going back and forth to the beach; we walked it in the morning, swam in the afternoon, and walked again late at night. The outdoor shower was a plus, as well as the grill to cook our fish we caught. Kitchen was pretty stocked with all the things you might need to cook. Upper and lower decks were great for dinner, and to hang out at night. (we never turned the tv on) We rented bikes and went fishing and kayaking close by. Honestly, just relaxing with a book on the couch was great, too. We will definitely be back!

We loved this house so much. From the descriptions, I thought it would be a little ramshackle, but it was not AT ALL. It was lovely - and while it is not technically beachfront because there is a tiny road and houses in between, you can hear the ocean and see parts of it from the porch. It was so nice to be able to bring our dog, especially having the gated front porch so we could all be outside together. The kitchen, while small, is very well stocked in terms of anything you could need - we had no problem cooking a full thanksgiving dinner. We are all hating our departure and would love to come back. Our only complaint is a couple of our emails went unanswered by the management company.

We had a wonderful stay in your comfortable and homey cottage. The location is perfect, as it is very close to the beach and a pleasant stroll to the Village area. We spent a lot of time on the front porch, which makes you feel that you at the beach even if there's a shower and you don't feel like walking on the beach in the rain. Being able to bring our dog was an added bonus. I'd definitely like to stay there again.

This is one of those rare properties about which my family of four agrees- we would all love to stay here again. Such a refreshing change from all the condos- clean, charming, private, surprisingly spacious, and so, so close to the beach. One nice surprise was that the front porch had a little gate at the top of the steps, so we were able to hang out there with our dog (his first vacation ever.)

my wife and I, our dog, and a good friend just spent three enjoyable days at The Seaside Cottage on St. Simons Island. While we were already in love with the island, and village itself, having stayed in this cottage left us loving the island even more! The cottage is exactly as described, and for us anyway, exactly perfect. The location to the beach, the village, and good restaurants helped make sure we had an excellent stay. I would highly recommend this home to anyone, and already look forward to our next stay there.

Overall, everyone in our adult family reunion celebrating our parents' 65th wedding anniversary, thought the accommodations "exceeded expectations". We were very thankful for this place. The great room was activity central. We were able to get 10 chairs (our whole group) around the dining table. While the weather was not right for pool season, we did use it! Most of us walked to the nearest access point to the beach and enjoyed walking it (at less than high tide 🙂 The weather for the weekend was close to perfect. God blessed our family with sweet parents who have been good examples to us, with loving sibling relationships, happy times as a family, and this was the most recent highlight of life "together" - though we live miles apart.

We stayed in Seaside Cottage in early May. It was our first trip to St. Simon's and after vacationing a lot in beach rentals in Florida, it was a very nice change of pace. We were able to bring our dog and that was a huge plus for us. The entire island is very dog friendly as is this home. The house is older but charming and has a lot of character. The furnishings are different than what is pictured for the living room, but the other rooms are accurately pictured. For us, after having stayed in many VRBO properties over the years, we felt that this house was great but could have been even better with the addition of a few things. I really wanted to do 4.5 stars, but there is no option. If the house had these additional touches, it would be 5 stars all the way. The Very Nice: Location: Fantastic location to the beach! Great area of town to walk to the village or bike all around the island. We loved it. Dog Friendliness: HUGE for us. Thank you for allowing pets in the home! Bedding and Towels: Great quality linens and towels (no beach towels that we could find, but we brought our own.) Very comfortable beds. Cleanliness: VERY clean and tidy! Wifi: Excellent connection most of the time The Could Be Better: Porch and Outdoor Area: Don't underestimate outdoor living. Having a porch is very nice and people want to be out there but it seems like an afterthought. The furniture is very awkward and oversized for the space. The addition of an outdoor sofa, a coffee table, some appropriately sized dining chairs & table would really make it a much nicer place to be. Also, the photos show a back yard, but it really isn't the case. The backyard is split between 2 other homes and it mostly weeds, not very well cared for. We probably spent more time in the yard because we had a dog with us. Little Thoughtful Touches: The addition of some beach essentials like chairs, umbrella, towels, etc. would go a long way. We never found any beach towels, we looked all over the home but only found white bath towels, luckily we brought our own. Bikes would have been nice, though we also brought our own. And, it would have been nice if the owners had gathered some of the info from the Tourist Info Office and put some brochures in the house, or better yet, put together a guide to the island for visitors. Overall we enjoyed our stay! It is a great house. This place would be just perfect with the addition of a few small things.

Great location which was accessible to the Village and beaches. Parking was a bit questionable, with no designated parking spaces. We were advised to park behind the dilapidated garage, or on the street under the trees. The rooftop sitting area offered great views and a fantastic breeze at night. The house stayed nice and cool thanks to a wonderfully functioning A/C. Overall, a great place to stay for our week away.

The location is great, just a minute to the beach. Plus, the living space is comfortable, quiet, and suitable for 4-6 people. The porch is perfect when it rains or when the sun is blisteringly hot and the roof deck is great in the evening, when things cool down. Convenient to almost everything. I hope to be back in April.

We loved our stay! Location cannot be beat. One minute walk to the beach and 10 minute walk to the Village. Walked to dinner every night. This section of the beach was considerably LESS crowded than other areas. House had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. Owners are very responsive and quick to resolve any issues - we had a minor problem with the lock, and they were on it! We will stay again soon!

We loved our stay here. Seaside Cottage is perfectly located on St. Simon's. The beach is a one-minute walk from the front porch, and it's never really crowded. At low tide, you can walk on the beach all the way to the village, or all the way up to East Beach and beyond. The cottage reminds you of the old days at St. Simon's, and thankfully the owners have kept it pristine and in its original layout. The kitchen is modern, well-planned and very functional.

Our stay at Seaside Cottage was nothing short of perfect! This cottage is incredibly well appointed with everything one could need for a spectacular vacation. The towels, sheets, kitchen and bath amenities are top quality and the beds are incredibly comfortable. We spent many hours on the front porch swinging and enjoying the ocean breeze. Access to the ocean is right across the street and the section of the beach is perfect. We look forward to returning to Seaside Cottage as soon as possible!

Stayed in this beach cottage during our recent trip to St. Simon's Island. Very spacious and comfortable. Almost everything you could possibly need is supplied...including bikes. You truly just need your clothes and beach chairs! The location is perfect...a quick walk to town & local restaurants (be sure to try Half Shell and Southern Soul BBQ). The beach is literally steps away & always accessible (many beaches on St. Simon's disappear at high tide). The area is very quiet and family friendly. The covered front porch saved the day during several rain storms. Sat in the porch swing, read books & consumed beverages! The upper deck provided a beautiful view of the of the ocean. The owners are very helpful and quickly answer any questions you may have. Overall, a great experience. We rent through VRBO frequently and this cottage is now among our very favorite places we've stayed!

The perfect beach cottage

If you are tired of cookie cutter condos with boring, over decorated rooms and no true beach feeling this is the place for you! It is a darling beach house that has been decorated with colorful phunky furniture and pictures all set against a sparkling white back ground of beadboard and white walls with lots of personality. It is about 30 yards from the beach, quiet, with a wonderful covered porch where you can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner and a rooftop deck where you can see the ocean and feel the breezes while you enjoy a cool drink. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfortable and it has a huge flat screen tv with wifi for watching sports or movies. The owners live on the island and are very accommodating. The one negative is the poor customer service from VRBO. The link they sent to find the address did not work and we spent an hour on the phone with them trying to find the property. They never did tell us the address of the property. We finally reached the owners. You should also know they even have the location wrong on their ad. This is not the King and Prince ( a hotel/condo property) but is a free standing house. Now that we know how to get here this is the place for us in the future!
