Palmetto Cottage & The Treehouse - 116 Florence St

The Palmetto Cottage and Treehouse can be rented as one with both homes having access to the pool. Palmetto Cottage is one of the very few remaining original beach cottages boasting the original 1930’s charm. The Treehouse provides the extra sleeping for a larger family who wants to stay close to the village. Combined the homes can sleep up to 14 guests.

Located within a block to the ocean on Florence Street and just a few minutes' walk to the Village. The cottages are nestled beneath massive Live Oak trees draped with Spanish moss and is the epitome of laid-back island living. Lovingly restored, Palmetto Cottage is full of original details and unique features that are nearly 100 years old complimented with modern convinces you expect.

When you need the additional sleeping space, combining your stay with the Treehouse is a perfect choice.

THE SPACE
Palmetto Cottage:

Entry to Palmetto Cottage is on the main deck level, to the right of two-story Treehouse. From here you are in the open Family room (sleeper sofa) with a smart TV,

Dining table for 8 guest and a generous sized kitchen with a single serve and drip style coffee makers, and a blender.

Behind family room is a laundry room with washer and dryer. And off the family room is the pool with privacy fence.
Off the pool area is a gas grill.

Bedroom 1 – King, sunroom which is ideal for a pack-n-play for crib set up (sleeps 2)

Bathroom 1 – Shared Hall bathroom with Shower

Bedroom 2 – King, (sleeps 2)

Bathroom 2 – Ensuite to Bedroom 2 with combination Tub/Shower

Bedroom 3 – Sneak upstairs to the loft to a Queen size bed (sleeps 2)

Common space – Sleeper Sofa in living room (sleeps 2)

Outdoors: Enjoy the screened in front porch with a dining table, porch swing and 2 side chairs.

THE SPACE
The Treehouse

Go up the front steps to the second floor to gain entry to The Treehouse.

Enter through the front porch into the quant sitting room with a smart TV. You have a small kitchenette with a 2-burner cooktop, dishwasher, microwave single serve coffee maker, blender and toaster oven. Sorry, there is NOT A REGULAR OVEN.

The dining area seats 4 guests and a high top at entry is comfortable for 3 guests.

Bedroom 1 – Living level, Full size bed, small smart TV (sleeps 2)

Bathroom 1 – Ensuite to Bedroom 1, clawfoot tub with a shower.

Bathroom 2 – Shared Hall Bathroom with Shower

Bedroom 2 - Winding up the spiral staircase (15-steps) to the loft area are 2 full size beds (32" smart TV), 2 seat sofa and a chair, with access to the screened in upper porch. (sleeps 4)

Note:

There is not a washer and dryer in The Treehouse, nor an oven.

The main home and Treehouse are connected via a common wall/breezeway entry. The breezeway connects to Palmetto Cottage's garage via a locked door that leads into Palmetto Cottage. There is not an internal access to the homes, so you must go outside to the shared homes.

The Ocean is tidal dependent in the areas near the village. Sandy beach is only accessible at low tide.

THE SPACE


Located on the south end of the Island, St. Simons Pier Village district serves as the downtown social hub and is a popular destination for shopping, dining and gathering on the pier and nearby lighthouse, playground and picnic areas. Overlooking the ocean and Jekyll Island across the way, you'll find the St. Simons Lighthouse and Museum, Neptune Park with its ocean side pool and facilities, playground, miniature golf course, and an oak shaded picnic area, fishing pier, public library and theater.

Beach Gear Included!: This home offers beach gear such as beach chairs and beach towels FREE for your use! Bikes, carts, paddleboards and more are available for rent locally, discount included. There are no fees or surcharges attached to your reservation.

Pets: This is not a pet friendly home.

Heated Pool: This property offers a heated pool option. The cost is $75/night+tax and can be added up to 48 hours before arrival. Let us know if you'd like to heat the pool!

No Smoking: No smoking is allowed in the home, on the porches/patios/decks, or on the property in general.

Minimum Age: Must be 25 + to book, or age 30 + on GAFL weekend (last weekend in October) For GAFL weekend (last weekend in October), guests must be age 30 + or kids with their parents, no student groups. We cannot make exceptions for that weekend.

No Events: No events or parties. No overnight guests beyond the original booking group.
