Beach Crew Cottage - 206 Ashantilly Avenue
Our favorite spot is the big open and airy covered back deck at Beach Crew Cottage. We designed this space to be an extension of the indoor space - making the poolside outdoor spot like a second living room. We chose comfortable seating here, added an outdoor TV, and there's great visibility to the pool to keep an eye on the swimmers. There's a large gas grill just off to the left - our idea of a perfect afternoon after a day at the beach is to throw some burgers on the grill, put the kids in the pool, and relax in the shade!
THE SPACE
Enter the home and turn into the dining room seating 8-10 people comfortably. Off the dining room is a bonus sleeping porch or office with pull out sofa bed for one.
Big kitchen with stainless steel appliances to include refrigerator, pull out drawer freezer, electric range cooktop and stove, dishwasher and kitchen is fully equipped.
Off the kitchen bar area is a separate bar area with mini refrigerator, bar sink and equipped with a blender and single serve coffee maker. The large expansive family room has a large screen TV and fireplace. Access the covered deck area and pool from the family room sliding glass doors. Wifi-Internet is available.
Bedrooms:
- Primary Suite: King bed, en-suite bathroom with large shower, plenty of closet space and a nice TV. There's also a private patio off the primary suite.
- Queen Bedroom 1 - comfortable bedding on the main level (this is a single level home)
- Queen Bedroom 2 - just as comfortable and just down the hall.
- Bunk Room - triple bunk bed and pull out queen sleeper sofa for the kids.
Near the bunk room is an additional bathroom with shower and a summer kitchen with more storage and washer/dryer.
An easily accessed half bath is located at entry to summer kitchen from the deck and pool. The deck also has an outdoor shower.
A leisurely 15-minute walk (or 2-minute drive) takes you past a neighborhood playground and gets you to the Village area. The Village offers the pier, lighthouse, Neptune Park, restaurants, shops, bars, beach access and more. At just over a mile from the house, more substantial beach access at Massengale Park and East Beach are both just a 5 minute drive away. St. Simons features a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of bike or walking paths, making this home feel accessible to just about everything the island has to offer.
While the home is much larger on the inside than it appears outside, it also retains much of its original historical charm as an island cottage built in 1942. The floor plan offers privacy for those that want to rest while others opt to play games and gather for a great time - fantastic for a small group or large extended/multiple families and friends!

Located on the south end of the Island, St. Simons Pier Village district serves as the downtown social hub and is a popular destination for shopping, dining and gathering on the pier and nearby lighthouse, playground and picnic areas. Overlooking the ocean and Jekyll Island across the way, you'll find the St. Simons Lighthouse and Museum, Neptune Park with its ocean side pool and facilities, playground, miniature golf course, and an oak shaded picnic area, fishing pier, public library and theater.

Pets: This home is dog friendly for dogs 25lbs or less with $150 pet fee, 2 dogs max. Unfortunately we can't host puppies < 1 year old or breeds known to insurance carriers as 'vicious', please ask if you're not sure.
Heated Pool: This property offers a heated pool option. The cost is $100/night+tax and can be added up to 48 hours before arrival. Let us know if you'd like to heat the pool!
No Smoking: No smoking is allowed in the home, on the porches/patios/decks, or on the property in general.
No Events: No events or parties. No overnight guests beyond the original booking group.
Booking Policy: Unfortunately we can't host reservations that create 1-2 night gaps.

Short 10-15 minute walk to downtown. It's the perfect location. The house is bigger than the pictures and the pool was amazing. You could spend your whole time at the house and enjoy every minute of it. We had a small maintenance issue that was resolved in the quickest amount of time with very prompt service. Highly recommend this place for families as well as a girls trip. We had a blast.

This property is SO worth the money! Plenty of room for family to be together or spread out. Tv in the kids room was a nice touch. We stayed during the coldest weekend in 10 years and throughly enjoyed the heated pool. This property has two full size refrigerators which came in handy to put sodas, etc all in one of them. Love the soaking tub in the master bathroom.

This house is better than the pictures! The bathroom in the master bedroom is amazing, has a double-standing shower and a bathtub. The pool and deck area are awesome if you have kids and just want to relax with family. One of the favorite places I've stayed in Saint Simons! We had such a GREAT time in Ryan's home. I can't say we even saw much of the island because the pool was honestly enough for our family. When we did venture to the beach, 3 minute drive to closest public access, if you're curious) everything we needed was already there. Wagons, boogie boards, tents/umbrella, toys…you name it. The home was so well thought out for a family with small children. There were so many toy baskets, a crib as well as pack n play…which meant a lot traveling with a 1 yo. The kitchen was very well stocked, we had no need to go buy coffee/tea or any seasonings to cook. Quiet neighborhood, close to grocery store and restaurants. We definitely plan on returning!

All we have to say, is we didn't have to bring anything besides clothes. The home was stocked with everything needed for a beach vacation. It was a wonderful experience, and we wish that every rental was intune with their renters needs.

We had a great getaway with our grown children at St Simons. They house was fun, plenty of room and well stocked. It was great having the extra fridge! The pool was really nice! Maybe a few updates should be made in outdoor toys (or removed) and appliances. Lighthouse was outstanding at quickly responding with questions. We would rent this house again.

Kings Terrace is a beautiful house. I stayed there with 8 or my friends for a birthday trip. We had amazing weather! The layout of the house was very strange but we were intrigued by it! We lived out on the back porch. The TV, outdoor seating and the string lights made for the perfect place for relaxing! The only thing was the pool seemed to be a little green. I contacted the people in charge and they said that the pool was properly serviced. All in all, I would stay here again!

Our family of four had a fantastic time here! We especially loved the heated pool and the large shaded deck. The whole house was very comfortable and clean. The house was very spacious and could easily accommodate a lot more people than we had. The management company was always quick to respond and easy to deal with. I would definitely stay at this place again.

This property was lovely! The pool was very nice although we were charged $10 more per day to heat than was stated on the website which was frustrating. Home was very well stocked with everything needed including some basic staple (spices, coffee). I would suggest that for the amount of people that this property accommodates there needs to be larger mixing bowls and extra cooking utensils and more storage containers. Property manager Jonathan was excellent. Overall, this was a great property and we would highly recommend.

As the reviews say-This place is much bigger than it appears. The layout is very different and felt like a maze, however, there was plenty of space and beds for 7 adults and 3 children! They also supply you with plenty of the essentials that some other rentals don't. (Hot pads, Paper towels, TP, Silverware, Soap, Dish towels, dishes, bath and swim towels) Also plenty of cabinet space to store food items that you may or may not bring. Very quick to respond if you have any questions.

We had a great vacation here with our children and grandchildren. Pool and outdoor patio were amazing for the kids. Kitchen was well equipped. Lots of toys and games for children which was a huge plus. Outdoor furniture cushions in pretty bad shape and could use replacing. Washing machine full of rust so we didn't dare wash our personal clothes. Overall we had a great quality time as a family!

This house is ideal for a SSI vacation. The location is a short walk from the village/pier and an easy bike or drive to the beach (or golf courses, if that's your thing). The furnishings are chic and in great condition (and comfortable) . The kitchen fully stocked for home cooks. And the pool! What can I say, it made a great vacation EPIC. The kids spent hours and hours, while we sat on the porch and read or had a drink. The house has loads of little extras- four bikes, shade tent, pool/beach toys, house toys, beach cart, etc. I LOVED the pink cruiser and spent hours every day peddling around town. We had so few questions, but any questions we had were answered promptly. I could tell from the listing that this house would be great for us, and it really did meet and exceed our expectations. This house is stunning! The whole house is beautifully furnished and there is so much room! We had 5 adults and we had way more room than we needed! They have also stocked the house with tons of indoor and outdoor games. We didnt have my toddler age daughter with us on this trip but if we had she would have had a great time too. The house has a crib, high chair, bike trailer for kids to ride in, and tons of kid toys! We spent a ton of time lounging and playing by the gorgeous pool. East beach is a quick drive and the beach is beautiful! We cooked everyday while we were there and the kitchen was stocked with all the cooking essentials. This was an amazing vacation and this house was perfect!

From the time we made our reservation, the host was there to answer all of our questions prior to arriving. The house had just enough room for all of us, it had all of the things that we needed to cook with. The pool and back deck was amazing! It was a short drive to the pier; you could even walk if you wanted to. Id definitely stay there again.

We had a great vacation here with our kids and grandparents. Big enough for everyone and loved having the crib in a quiet place for our 1 year old. Pool was great - cloudy and buggy at first but management fix for us. Could use a new pool net (couple holes). Loved using their bikes and couple toys. Kitchen was well equipped. House could use a deep cleaning of bathrooms. Outdoor cushions could use an update and we would recommend bringing your own floats with a pump. Just sending feedback from our own opinions to help out the next group. Overall we had a wonderful week and made some great memories. So thankful to have a house that accommodated our small dog and kids!

We just got back from a fantastic memorial weekend at this lovely house! We were two families and 10 persons, and there was enough room for all of us and more than that! The pool is absolutely awesome! We had a wonderful time and the neighborhood is super cute. Its just a few min bike ride down to the pier and all the stores/restaurants/beach. The kitchen is well equipped, there are 3 adults bikes and 1 bigger kid Bike (the bikes needed air in the tires, but there was a pump there), there is a lovely porch, gas grill (would check the propane right when you get there though....we didnt and our dinner got pretty spoiled bc we prepared everything and started cooking, but couldnt finish the bbq)......all in all we really enjoyed the stay and would love to come back another time! Thank you so much!!
St Simons Island Family Vacation

We had 2 couples, one with 3 kids; 13, 10 & 5, stay for the week. The house is very spacious and would have easily fit another couple with a 1yr old, who backed out. The house is very well stocked for cooking, preparing meals and laundry. All appliances worked great, the 2 refrigerators make alot of ice. The pool and deck area is a life saver if you have kids or just like to cool off from the intense summer heat. (were from Wisconsin, not used to upper 80's and 90's, with dew points in the 70's) There are plenty of pools toys available, bring a pump if you don't want to pass out blowing them up, lol. The pool is very nice. The only problem we had was contacting the property manager, they texted us before we got there, but during the week I tried to contact them twice and did not get a response, luckily it wasn't that big a deal. All on all, it is a very nice house to rent. Winn Dixie is close buy and reasonably priced to buy groceries. The house has a crock pot and plenty of bath and pool towels. Excellent week! I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking to get away.

The house was extremely clean and well kept. It was in a great neighborhood just a short golf cart ride away from the village and beaches. Don’t Be Fooled By Front View!

There is nothing wrong with the front view of the house. But one cannot imagine the space of the interior from the outside view. My family gathers once a year at Thanksgiving. This was Home away from Home. We enjoyed everything about this rental. There are 4 toilets, 2 showers and a free standing tub. There was enough room to sleep 7 adults and 7 children - all in beds. We loved the details like a crib, toys and games, 2 refrigerators, fireplace and the pool. The pool was a lifesaver! Worth every penny to heat it too! Coming in from 14 degrees? Perfect! Sun is on the pool in the morning and the afternoons were open for the beach and Frozen II. Although there are many wonderful restaurants, we cooked all our meals. I took 10 beach towels and we used them all. (There are towels there). Because I live fairly close to the island, we took a turkey roasting rack&pan, two large pots and 2 roasting pans. Those were needed for our large gatherings. At home now and missing that fire place! It’s so family friendly and all the children said they like it so much they’d like to come back next year. So that’s our plan! Lord willing, see you again in 2020! EDIT HERE IF YOU WANT - We could not use the grill because the insides need replacing and there’s no propane tank.

This Rental was fantastic for our family to get together. Clean, large kitchen that had everything we needed, pool was great for the hot summer days. Our stay was absolutely perfect. From the beautiful house and furnishings to the pool and outdoor shower everything was perfect. We are a family of 9 and there was room to spare. The small details of this house were so appreciated. We loved the beautiful plate settings and small decorations that made this feel like a home away from home. The beds and bedding were very comfortable and the amazing tub was a blessing at the end of a long day. The house was pristine and clean when we arrrived. We have been coming to the island for 6 years now and the moment we crossed the threshold we knew we had found our new favorite vacation house.

My family and I had a great time at the cottage. Lots of room in the rental and close to all the hot spots. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. However, needs more towels for big families. It would be nice if the kitchen had a hand mixer for baking up a brownie or two. The mattress in one of the room is sinking in the middle so you might want to see about replacing it. The pool was great to have especially with the kids they really loved it. We loved Saint Simons and will return in the future

Would definitely stay here again. Only suggestion is for room darkening shades or curtains, so bright in the bedrooms at daybreak. That would not keep my family from staying again though. The pool was huge! Great for families!
