DESCRIPTION:Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation will have a month long Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt rather than a 1-day event. Visitors may participate from March 1st – April 7th on Tuesdays – Sundays from 9:00AM – 4:00PM daily. Guests will be given an Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt map with instructions. \nJust follow the simple instructions\, using the map for clues\, to answer the secret phrase. After completing the hunt repeat the phrase to the Ranger at the museum and receive a prize bag filled with toy filled Easter Eggs & more prizes. \nParticipants can receive an EXTRA PRIZE for taking a selfie at one of the clue locations! This event is for the ENTIRE FAMILY and all ages. SUMMARY:Annual Blessing of the Fleet
DESCRIPTION:This annual tradition takes place every year in historic Darien\, Georgia to “bless” the local shrimp boats with good fortune prior to the start of the shrimping season. This seafaring festival traces its origins to a Portuguese tradition that began in 1938 to commemorate the first appearance of The Blessed Virgin to three children near the town of Fatima\, Portugal on May 13\, 1917. \nThe Annual Blessing of the Fleet will take place at the Darien waterfront park. One of the best events that Coastal Georgia has to offer\, we proudly offer a taste of fresh seafood\, local culture\, boating\, water sports\, the shrimping industry\, arts\, crafts and variety of leisure activities.
