SUMMARY:4th of July Celebrations
DESCRIPTION:Each year Coastal Georgia celebrates our nation’s independence with fireworks and festivities happening on St. Simons Island\, Brunswick\, Jekyll Island and  Sea Island. \nSt. Simons Island 4th of July Celebration\nFor more than 60 years\, the annual St. Simons Island Sunshine Festival takes place in the Pier Village with a spectacular fireworks display that begins around 9pm as the day turns to night. Live  music plays as well as an arts and crafts show\, a 5K and 1-mile run\, and family-friendly fun to be had all around. \nBrunswick’s Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration\nHistoric Downtown Brunswick celebrates each year at Mary Ross Waterfront Park\, with a fireworks display\, games for kids and adults like sack races\, horseshoes\, tug-of-war\, hula-hoop contests and more. And of course free watermelon! Courtesy of the City of Brunswick. \nJekyll Island Independence Day Celebration\nJekyll celebrates the 4th of July with an old-fashioned parade through the Historic District starting at 9am\, with local residents and visitors invited to decorate their bikes\, golf carts\, strollers\, pets or themselves. The fun continues from 12pm to 6pm with the Red\, White & Bounce held at the Jekyll Island Beach Village\, with water slides\, bounce houses\, live music and local crafts and vendors on hand. A fireworks display takes place at 9pm. \nSea Island 4th of July Celebration\nGuests and residents of Sea Island celebrate the holiday at The Cloister and Beach Club with family fun activities at a fireworks display at 9pm.

SUMMARY:Hofwyl Halloween Scavenger Hunt
DESCRIPTION:TIME: Tuesdays through Sundays\, all October \n  \nHofwyl-Broadfield Plantation will have a Halloween Season Scavenger Hunt all month-long during October. Visitors may participate daily\, Tuesday – Sunday from 10:00AM – 4:00PM. Guests will be given a Scavenger Hunt map with instructions. Locations and clues on the map all relate to harvest activities. The site Interpretive Center will also be decorated for Halloween. \nAfter picking up the Scavenger Hunt map at Hofwyl-Broadfield’s Visitor Center\, just follow the simple instructions\, find Halloween themed clues\, and answer the secret phrase. Give the phrase to a Ranger in the Visitor Center to win a goodie bag with prizes. Participants can win an EXTRA PRIZE for taking and sending us a selfie from one of the clue locations! \nThis event is fun for the whole family and all ages! Admission includes access to our museum and plantation house tours. \nHofwyl-Broadfield Plantation is owned and operated by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. Classic cars from all over southeast Georgia will be on hand all day vying for the championship in the 11th annual car show. Come and view the cars\, vote for your favorite and then tour a historic rice plantation. Presented by Friends of Hofwyl and Classic Coastal Cruisers automobile club. If you would like to enter your car there is a $20.00 registration fee. Call for more information. \nYour admission includes a guided tour of the 19th century home and non-guided tours of the plantation out-buildings and trails.
