THE SPACE
Nestled in a quaint neighborhood between the Village and the Beach, Little Gingerbread Cabin is homey and charming full of family heirlooms. Main level has a full XL size bedroom and access to bathroom with combination tub/shower. Upstairs is a king bed in a loft, and a second bathroom on that level. You will definitely enjoy the rocking chair front porch for relaxation after a full day at the beach or shopping in the village. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a drip coffee maker. Off the family room is a screened in back porch.
Located on the south end of the Island, St. Simons Pier Village district serves as the downtown social hub and is a popular destination for shopping, dining and gathering on the pier and nearby lighthouse, playground and picnic areas. Overlooking the ocean and Jekyll Island across the way, you'll find the St. Simons Lighthouse and Museum, Neptune Park with its ocean side pool and facilities, playground, miniature golf course, and an oak shaded picnic area, fishing pier, public library and theater.

No Smoking: No smoking is allowed in the home, on the porches/patios/decks, or on the property in general.
Minimum Age: Must be 25 + to book, or age 30 + on GAFL weekend (last weekend in October) For GAFL weekend (last weekend in October), guests must be age 30 + or kids with their parents, no student groups. We cannot make exceptions for that weekend.
No Events: No events or parties. No overnight guests beyond the original booking group.

The gingerbread cottage was the perfect little getaway house. Conveniently located to the pier and the restaurants and shops. It is a very scooter/bicycle/walking friendly town. The cottage itself was so quiet and clean. The owner does come to the house to feed the kitty but she does not bother you. Ryan/Alex at the lighthouse property manager gives you easy instructions as well and are very quick to respond.

The Gingerbread Cabin in St. Simon's is a wonderful home, in a great location, even walking distance to restaurants and the village. When we first arrived I realized there was no shampoo so I sent an email and they rushed some right over, along with conditioners, soaps and lotions! It is a quiet, peaceful and attractive neighborhood close to the village, parks, and beach. The house is really nice, with a well appointed kitchen and two bedrooms. The larger king size bed is upstairs. Both bathrooms are nice and the towels provided were a lot nicer than mine here at home lol. The kitchen is better than mine also! Most people might not care about the landscaping, but it's my thing and this house was amazing, surrounded by lush azaleas and camellias, a magnolia tree, oak tree, and many evergreen shrubs. It's really lovely and I enjoyed sitting in the screened porch at the back of the house, where we enjoyed several meals. The front porch swing was also a favorite for me when I was relaxing at home. You can't be on the beach 24/7 after all, so having a wonderful home is an added bonus. We watched tv at night on a really good tv. We used Roku to access Britbox. It worked perfectly. I will definitely want to stay here again on my next trip to St. Simons. Thanks for making my first Airbnb experience truly great!

Wonderful place! Very eclectic furnishings. Centrally located to shopping, restaurants, and east side beach. Less than 5 minutes to any of these. Would not recommend staying here with small children. The furnishings are antiques as well as stairs to the loft, which tend to be a fall waiting to happen. The community is very quiet. We will stay here again.

This was such a cute place to stay! The house is in the perfect location. Only a 15 minute walk to both the pier and the beach, and an even shorter bike ride. The house was much bigger than expected, as I did not realize it had an upstairs level as well. That is where the loft bed is with its own bathroom. There is only parking for one small car, but seeing as the house is really only meant for a few people anyway that shouldn't be an issue. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay at the Gingerbread Cabin! It was great for a girls' getaway weekend...clean & quiet with 2 comfortable beds. There is a nice screened back porch for breakfast or evenings. Beach is a short drive away. We enjoyed St. Simons restaurants with outdoor seating: Iguana's and Sal's Pizzeria.

Great location, but not enough privacy

The cottage was cute and nice. However, we would not stay there again. The owner came each day to feed cats in the backyard. All in all, that was at least an hour long process each day and she would show up unannounced, sometimes staying to prune trees and bushes around the property. There were also lots of notes around the house from the owner with "do's and don'ts" that just seemed over the top. Towels were old and scratchy, coffee mugs were stained from use, there were no bath rugs, just rubber mats to step on after a shower. Those are simple things that would make a big difference if updated. When we go away, we want to stay somewhere that feels like our home away from home. Unfortunately, this felt exactly like we were a guest in someone's home rather than having a space to call our own for a few days. This might not be a deal-breaker for some people, but for us it was. On a positive note, the king bed was extremely comfortable and the air conditioning cooled the place perfectly. The back porch was screened in and very comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed our stay and thoroughly enjoyed the location. Easy to ride bikes wherever we wanted to go.

First St. Simons stay

We enjoyed our stay very much. The written instructions were very helpful. The house was clean but the smell of moldy wood was strong. Not that we stayed more than during nights, to sleep. Check in was on time [actually 30 minutes earlier than 4 PM] Overall I strongly recommend this house because of the quiet neighborhood that lets you get a good night sleep after long days' activities. Note-The road closures cause major problems for everybody to get around the island. Bad planning, without good alternate routes during the road work. Bad decision on the community leadership or DOT's part.

Wonderful stay at the Little Gingerbread House.? Couldn't be more pleased.? Very clean home, well provisioned kitchen, and comfortable living spaces.? I loved the furniture and the AC unit worked great. Close to everything on the island. It was easy place to relaxe. My family would love to repeat our stay.? I feel we were lucky and would 100 percent recommend.
