The pool at After Dune Delight is the perfect spot to cool off after a hot and sunny day at the beach. And during the cooler months, you have the option to heat the pool for added comfort.
There are unbelievable views of the beach from the house. Note that while the beach is right outside, there is no beach access from the house. The nearest beach access is a couple of blocks away depending on tides, and best beaches on St Simons are a 5 minute drive.

Upstairs main living level: Fully equipped kitchen with a drip coffee maker. Living room with additional new sofa 2023. Screened in porch with steps down to the back yard and public beach entrance, assessable at low tide. King bedroom (sleeps 2) with adjoining bathroom with shower.
Downstairs at ground level are 3+ bedrooms, sharing 2 baths:
* Guest Room 1 has a queen bed (sleeps 2) with a comfy new mattress Winter 2023
* Guest Room 2 also has a queen bed (sleeps 2) with a comfy new mattress Winter 2023
* Guest Room 3 is a large bunk room with 2 full beds (sleeps 4) on the bottom and 2 twins (sleeps 2) on the top.
* There's also a bunk nook a kids favorite, featuring 2 more twins (sleeps 2)
The downstairs includes 2 full baths - one with a shower/tub combo and the other with a shower.
The pool is hour glass shaped – approximately 20 feet long, 14 feet wide at its widest point. There is a 6 foot overflow round spa (not a hot tub with bubbling jets) - see photo.
Note: Pool heat and spa is optional. The spa and pool temperature will be the same. The over flow prevents one from being hot and the other cold. If you choose to heat the water, the fee applies to the full stay.
Poolside is a gas grill for your use.
Located on the south end of the Island, St. Simons Pier Village district serves as the downtown social hub and is a popular destination for shopping, dining and gathering on the pier and nearby lighthouse, playground and picnic areas. Overlooking the ocean and Jekyll Island across the way, you'll find the St. Simons Lighthouse and Museum, Neptune Park with its ocean side pool and facilities, playground, miniature golf course, and an oak shaded picnic area, fishing pier, public library and theater.

Beach Gear Included!: This home offers beach gear such as beach chairs and beach towels FREE for your use! Bikes, carts, paddleboards and more are available for rent locally, discount included. There are no fees or surcharges attached to your reservation.
Pets: This home is dog friendly for dogs 25lbs or less with $250 pet fee, 2 dogs max. Unfortunately we can't host puppies < 1 year old or breeds known to insurance carriers as 'vicious', please ask if you're not sure.
Heated Pool: This property offers a heated pool option. The cost is $100/night+tax and can be added up to 48 hours before arrival. Let us know if you'd like to heat the pool!
No Smoking: No smoking is allowed in the home, on the porches/patios/decks, or on the property in general.
Minimum Age: Must be 25 + to book, or age 30 + on GAFL weekend (last weekend in October) For GAFL weekend (last weekend in October), guests must be age 30 + or kids with their parents, no student groups. We cannot make exceptions for that weekend.
No Events: No events or parties. No overnight guests beyond the original booking group.

Perfect Getaway House

This house was absolutely ideal for a family getaway to celebrate an 80th and 12th birthday. So much room and the location, pool, and views were perfection. There was even an art festival during our stay. I would definitely recommend and plan on coming back!!

The house was comfortable and well equipped. The large screened porch overlooking the water, was where we spent many relaxing hours! The location is great. In addition to being beside the beach, it was only about a 5 minute walk to the Village, where there are many excellent restaurants! We plan to go back next year!

So many great things to say about this home!!! Convenience was key, close to village, close to beach, our own private pool, use of deck overlooking ocean at high tide!!! Loved having the ice machine. Loved the screened in porch! Beds were all very comfortable. Management checked in with us several times to see if we needed anything!! Would HIGHLY recommend.

After Dune Delight was a perfect fit for our family and fur babies! Plenty of space for everyone to be comfortable and very conveniently located. When we arrived, the house was clean and music was playing making it very welcoming. We did have to contact management to bring us more wash cloths, as there were only 3 for the house. Management was very responsive and fixed any issue right away. Having the shared deck next to the ocean was great, since the pool is shaded by trees. Although pool maintenance came frequently, be prepared to skim the pool and sweep the surrounding concrete daily due to the trees. Overall great stay and we would love to visit again!

I traveled to St. Simons with my husband, three children (ages 13, 11, and 8), and our dog for spring break this year. When we arrived at the home on Sunday evening, dolphins were jumping and splashing right outside our back door, and the pool was already heated and ready for us. The house was spotless with lots of room for all of us. We particularly loved the screened-in porch, where we ate most of our meals and enjoyed the view of the ocean. The house shares a deck on the water with another home, and we spent some time on the deck almost every day while the kids played on the beach or when we were watching dolphins during dinner. We loved watching the tide come in and out, and the public beach was never crowded and right outside our back door. We also enjoyed the nearby lighthouse and public park. The house truly could not have been more convenient for restaurants and attractions. We rode our bikes to the other end of the island almost every day, and we loved the pool within a fenced-in yard for our dog. All in all, it was just what we needed as a family, and we hope to come back soon!

The house has wonderful view of water! And walking distance to many places of interest including restaurants. There is no place for sitting in the sun, although nice screened porch. The pool is lovely but is totally shaded and requires $$ to have heated. My major disappointment was the furnishings! The photos look charming, but the sofa needs replacement and the linens are worn, certainly not five star. This place is all about location!

The house was all that it could be in the location, and design. We loved being located so very close to downtown and the beach. The house is very nicely decorated with new linens and kitchen utensils. We loved every part of it.. We did have a bit of any issue with the coolness of the lower bedrooms and would suggest perhaps taking a large fan for the last bedroom downstairs as the a/c does not cool it as well as the rest of the house. Management was very quick to answer our call but it is the design of the house and we are post-menopausal... Love the island !

We had such a wonderful time on our vacation at this property! The location was ideal for us as we had several small children which made such close access to beach, water park, playground and village such a blessing. There was plenty of space for our family group, and we all loved the beachside porch....especially for nightly relaxation after kids were down for the night. We were a bit concerned about a "tidal beach" but all worked out well as we just flipped our outdoor time between the beach and the pool. It would have been nice to have a larger refrigerator in the kitchen. Since our group included smaller children, we ate in for all meals and did no dining out. We found it necessary to supplement with ice chests for cold storage during the week. Also, the master bedroom was a bit warm so a box fan was purchased to help circulate the air in that space. Just a couple of minor inconveniences, but certainly nothing that wasn't manageable. Also, it should be mentioned that even though the rental info offers 'shared access', there really didn't seem to be any "sharing" of the deck overlooking the beach. We actually met the owners of that property who did not mention sharing as an option since there is a locked gate requiring a code. Again, no problem for us as the screened porch offers a great view of the ocean. Overall, we enjoyed the property immensely, will look forward to staying again, and would highly recommend.
Awesome getaway!

We and another family (4 adults & 5 children, ages 8, 8, 6, 5 & 1 and a dog) had an amazing getaway at this St. Simons house! It was exactly the change of pace we needed during this crazy time! The home was as advertised. It appears that the owners have recently updated the home (fresh paint smell!). The bunk room on the lower level was amazing! It's spacious & the steps with cubbies to the top bunks are a great touch! Youll want to note that one of the bedrooms on the lower level has the pool pump right outside of its window & can be noisy. We put the dogs crate in that room for this trip so it didnt bother us. Also worth noting is theres no actual dining room - there is a dining table you can extend out in the living area, but theres also the high top table on the screen porch which the kids used, and loved! The screen porch is perfect & we loved sitting out there listening to the waves at night! The master bedroom is on the second floor with the kitchen & living room, and has a huge closet - big enough for our son to sleep in in his pack & play! Having the pool was perfect, and really is a must as you do not have direct beach access during high tide, so be sure to look up the tide tables for your trip. The pool is advertised as heated, however the heat would not remain constant. We had the property manager come out to turn it on & they showed us how to use the controls, but we could not figure out how to keep the hot tub actually hot during our stay. Thankfully the kids didnt mind, and thoroughly enjoyed the pool! We got the sense that we may be some of the first renters since the home has been updated, and we did have a few suggestions for making this rental more comfortable, but these in no way took away from our enjoyable experience! In the bunk room, it'd be great if there was a bit more storage for clothing (currently only 1 dresser). The whole house, especially the lower level, could use some more floor rugs in the hallways. We especially could have used these when coming in from the pool, as the kids slipped quite a bit on the wet floor. Even some extra towels wouldve been nice to be able to use to dry the floors. We also wished there were more bath mats for showers & bath rugs for the tile. We also couldve used a broom for both the pool area outdoors, and for general tidying indoors. In the kitchen, we really wouldve appreciated some food storage/tupperware. Overall this house is a great find & a great location!

Close to the beach, lighthouse, shopping and dining areas. Pool is small but usable for about 4 people, however, it is fully shaded so you have to go the beach to get sun. A lot of space for people to sleep, maybe even multiple families but the common areas would not comfortably accommodate as many people as the house can sleep. We had an enjoyable stay but I would say the pictures make it look better than it does in person.

This was the perfect place for a family vacation. Upon arrival the tide was quite high and we were wondering where the beach was, however once it went down there was the beach just steps away from the back porch! It is the perfect location to be right near all of the restaurants/shops/etc. but tucked back on a street that was private and quaint. If you plan on bringing little ones I suggest a baby gate because the main living level has stairs leading to downstairs bedrooms. The private pool was amazing and we probably spent more time there than we did at the beach. If we ever visit again we will definitely stay here-great trip!

Not really a private deck

We enjoyed the house a lot. We know they spray for bugs as there were several large dead ones laying around the house (not sure how good the housekeepers are). The ice machine is a fabulous touch. The property lacks hot water in the kitchen (the water didn't get hot enough to wash dishes in the dishwasher). The master shower is wonderful with a lot of pressure. Love the back porch and the view of the water. The location is great and close to the downtown area and the lighthouse. Regarding the "Private Deck" for sunning ... there was another group that claimed that they owned the deck and had the combination to the lock and also used it nightly with a group from 6-8 adults each night. That was disappointing. We didn't feel that it was our place to dispute it as they did have the combination to the lock. Other than that we DID enjoy the property.

This was the perfect house in the perfect location for our family! The house is nestled in the live oaks which provided enough shade to make the screened porch very pleasant, even in July, but still provided great views of the water and the tidal beach. The house is well furnished and we had everything we needed, including a wet bar with an ice machine and a wine fridge. Before the trip, we thought about renting bikes, but it was so close to the restaurants and shopping, we were able to easily walk. Even the lighthouse was just a block away! The best review came from our two hard-to-please teenagers who said they want to go back again!

If we could give this six stars on a scale of 1 to 5 we would. We spend hours on the pier/deck watching dolphins and the tide come in and go out. The screened porch was amazing And the location could not be more perfect. We will definitely be back!
