The Heron Cottage is a classically styled St. Simons cottage with a fantastic backyard, a wonderfully private pool and outdoor heated shower and covered bike parking. Beautifully decorated, it is located within a short walk or bike ride to the Village/Pier and beaches, this quiet neighborhood lets you escape the hustle and bustle for a truly serene stay. With 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, this boutique beach cottage is the perfect spot for your island getaway with family or friends.
THE SPACE
Heron Cottage features 3 comfortable bedrooms:
- Primary Suite: King bed on the 1st floor, en-suite bath with shower and jetted soaking tub
- Guest King Suite: 2nd Floor, en-suite bath with shower/tub combo
- Queen Suite: Main level, Queen bed, full bath across the hall with shower/tub combo
Kitchen:
-The kitchen is well stocked with all the essentials and a few extras, including wine storage, crockpot and juicer.
Gathering Areas:
- You'll love the open living room with 64" smart TV, comfortable couches, and plenty of seating for everyone.
-Open dining room
- The screened back porch is our favorite spot - perfect for dining or enjoying quiet time around the outdoor fireplace.
- The pool! Our pool is 15x30 and is surrounded by outdoor seating and a gas grill. The heated outdoor shower is perfect for rinsing the kids from the beaches.
We love hosting families and friends alike and many of our guests come year after year.
The Rules:
-OUR NEIGHBORS are precious to us and our guests should be thoughtful about the noise level. This is a quiet, peaceful neighborhood, and are looking for guests who will treasure it during their time here.
-OUTDOOR NOISE must be kept to a considerate level for our neighbors, including quiet hours starting at 9pm.
-GATHERINGS at this property are limited to registered Heron guests only (6 persons total). Events such as weddings, rehearsal dinners, parties etc. are not permitted.
-POOL is for registered Heron guests only.
-NO PETS or SMOKING anywhere on property. Due to allergies we are strictly pet and smoke free at Heron Cottage.
-PARKING is limited to 3 vehicles and 1 golf cart. No boats or trailers allowed.

Located on the south end of the Island, St. Simons Pier Village district serves as the downtown social hub and is a popular destination for shopping, dining and gathering on the pier and nearby lighthouse, playground and picnic areas. Overlooking the ocean and Jekyll Island across the way, you'll find the St. Simons Lighthouse and Museum, Neptune Park with its ocean side pool and facilities, playground, miniature golf course, and an oak shaded picnic area, fishing pier, public library and theater.

Beach Gear Included!: This home offers beach gear such as beach chairs and beach towels FREE for your use! Bikes, carts, paddleboards and more are available for rent locally, discount included. There are no fees or surcharges attached to your reservation.
Pets: This is not a pet friendly home.
Heated Pool: This property offers a heated pool option. The cost is $75/night+tax and can be added up to 48 hours before arrival. Let us know if you'd like to heat the pool!
No Smoking: No smoking is allowed in the home, on the porches/patios/decks, or on the property in general.
Minimum Age: Must be 25 + to book, or age 30 + on GAFL weekend (last weekend in October) For GAFL weekend (last weekend in October), guests must be age 30 + or kids with their parents, no student groups. We cannot make exceptions for that weekend.
No Events: No events or parties. No overnight guests beyond the original booking group.

Second time at Heron Cottage. Loved the home. Perfectly appointed and decorated exactly how you want a beach location to feel. The house worked beautifully for our Tweens and Teens with the bedrooms separated…one up and one down. A short golf cart ride to the beach and you can walk to the Village. Lighthouse/Alex was a perfect host and accommodated all of our “asks”.

Incredible experience! Heron Cottage was an amazing property with everything and anything we could have needed. Everything was beautiful and top of the line -- furniture, decor, finishes, kitchen tools, landscaping, and the pool! There was more than enough room for our group with plenty of living spaces to share. The back porch was a stunning spot for morning coffee, afternoon naps, and evening dinners. We enjoyed multiple swims each day. Could not have asked for a better property or vacation rental company.

Laid Back Comfort in St Simon's

We had a fun and relaxing girls trip. There were 5 of us who travelled from Texas & California. Heron cottage was very well equipped and set up perfect for the two 2 year olds who were travelling with us. They loved the kids corner under the stairs & especially loved the pool time. The house was nicely located not far from the beaches, fun activities, & food. Bike rentals were easy and worked great! We wish we had spent our last 2 days at Heron Cottage rather than Hilton Head Island. We absolutely loved St. Simons Island and our stay at Heron Cottage. Thanks for a Great Stay.......

A lovely house! Nice and spacious! Nice pool. Quiet but above all a safe neighborhood. There is an airport behind what you don't see through the trees. Many private jets are rising. Mainly during the day. They don't fly at night. We didn't bother you any further! Kids even thought it was fantastic. But highly recommended!

We enjoyed our stay at Heron Cottage a great deal. The owners were extremely responsive during the booking process, and addressed small questions during our stay immediately. This is a terrific home - spacious, sun-filled rooms, high ceilings, attractive and modern furniture and decor, comfortable beds, roomy, well-appointed bathrooms. All three bedrooms are attractive and beautifully decorated. We played board games under the glow of various light fixtures, all on dimmers, which we love. We walked to tennis and pickleball courts, restaurants, the beach and other places in town. Many older homes in this neighborhood are now modern dwellings, like Heron Cottage, offering modern conveniences but remaining in keeping with this seaside community. Location near airport worth noting.

We loved this house more than we anticipated. From the moment we walked in, we absolutely loved it! We went with three adult couples and the space was perfect. The outdoor spaces are great and I loved running around the island in the mornings. The restaurants are very good, extremely reasonably priced and service excellent. Locals are very nice. The shops are lovely. Golf is very expensive on the island but we went to Jekyll which is very close and the course was great. We had the pool heated but only used it a couple of times but it was great to have. The backyard is private and big enough to relax. The screened in porch is really lovely. We spent a lot of time there in the evenings and the large front porch in the mornings. Attention to detail in all furnishings and decor. It’s really a great house! I hope to make it back!!

This house totally amazing! Beautifully appointed, comfy, nice linens, well-stocked kitchen--even a stylishly set dining table! I have only good things to say! We would have used the pool, but a bit a cold spell happened. We call it the Hutchins' Curse! 😉 But, lots of great restaurants and golfing--we weren't ever bored! Would stay again--loved St. Simon's Island!

This house was perfect for our girls trip- open and airy with lovely decor, plenty of space to lounge and relax but have alone time too, and the pool is exceptional! We loved the backyard and porch and the whole house is so well appointed and thoughtfully furnished. Close to town, easy to get to the beach- it has it all!
