THE SPACE

Fondly named from a tad bit of history. In the 40’s & 50’s the families on the mainland of Brunswick were migratory and spent their summers on St. Simons Island. As the school year ended for the kids, the station wagons were packed with pots and pans, bikes, you name it, and they headed for the causeway.

This perfectly located guest cottage is now owned by a family of a Brunswick Mayor of that time period. Mayor’s Cottage is ideal for a couple or a single traveler. Bring your bike or rent one, and cruise to the beach for morning yoga. The owner is providing 2 passes for a session with East Beach Yoga.

Enter into the open living space with a small-scale kitchen, but nicely equipped. You will have a refrigerator and stove for dining in. There is also a microwave, toaster and Keurig Duo with a drip side coffee maker. Seating for dining is at the Kitchen bar area.

The living space features a comfortable sofa for 2 and a large smart TV.

Into the bedroom is a new (September 2023) queen size mattress, closet space and bathroom with a shower.

Outside is the attached laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer.

Also, a gas grill is available for use.


Why Stay on East Beach:
The stretch of beach along the ocean side of St. Simons Island is known as East Beach. A quant neighborhood of single-family homes begins at the access point of the U.S. Coast Guard Station at the northern tip and ends at the southern point of Gould's Inlet by access of Bruce Drive, which runs down the center of East Beach. The Coast Guard Station houses the present home to the World War II Home Front Museum.

No Smoking: No smoking is allowed in the home, on the porches/patios/decks, or on the property in general.

No Events: No events or parties. No overnight guests beyond the original booking group.

We enjoyed our stay. The best part is how close the cottage is to the beach. Just a very short walk down the road. Also the owner is very friendly. He welcomed us and answered several questions about the best restaurants and sights on the island. He definitely made our stay nicer.
