This lovely home is furnished with the intrinsic beauty of water color - from the greys of the Atlantic visible from our front yard, to the shimmering blue sparkles from the backyard pool by day, or dazzling LED colors at night. Décor in each room is subtle and relaxing, with grays, greens, and blues throughout. The signature touch inside the house is the growing collection of watercolor paintings by artists including Alan Casey, and others. Most of the art was painted on the island by artists who loved Saint Simons Island, and the collection continues to grow.

THE SPACE

~ Dining room, living room with 47" flat screen TV, reading area, and outdoor dining
The private pool is 13' x 27' - long enough to swim laps and wide enough for the whole family to splash together. The pool is 3'6" deep on the shallow end and 5'6" on the deep end. It features bench seating on each end. For an additional fee ($75/day+tax) the pool can be heated during your stay.
You may never leave the back yard! But if you do, it will certainly be to stroll down to the beautiful Saint Simons beach, just 156 steps from the front porch to the sand. When you get back from a day at the beach, enjoy our heated outdoor shower before dipping again in the pool! In fact you may enjoy all of your showers in the outdoor shower.

Located on the south end of the Island, St. Simons Pier Village district serves as the downtown social hub and is a popular destination for shopping, dining and gathering on the pier and nearby lighthouse, playground and picnic areas. Overlooking the ocean and Jekyll Island across the way, you'll find the St. Simons Lighthouse and Museum, Neptune Park with its ocean side pool and facilities, playground, miniature golf course, and an oak shaded picnic area, fishing pier, public library and theater.

Beach Gear Included!: This home offers beach gear such as beach chairs and beach towels FREE for your use! Bikes, carts, paddleboards and more are available for rent locally, discount included. There are no fees or surcharges attached to your reservation.
Pets: This home is dog friendly with $150 pet fee, 2 dogs max. Unfortunately we can't host breeds known to insurance carriers as 'vicious', please ask if you're not sure.
Heated Pool: This property offers a heated pool option. The cost is $75/night+tax and can be added up to 48 hours before arrival. Let us know if you'd like to heat the pool!
No Smoking: No smoking is allowed in the home, on the porches/patios/decks, or on the property in general.
Minimum Age: Must be 25 + to book, or age 30 + on GAFL weekend (last weekend in October) For GAFL weekend (last weekend in October), guests must be age 30 + or kids with their parents, no student groups. We cannot make exceptions for that weekend.
No Events: No events or parties. No overnight guests beyond the original booking group.

We really appreciated that it was pet friendly, as our dog had the time of his life at the beach and the private pool! The mattress in the master bedroom was the best mattress we had experienced on vacation! Having a tv outside and an outdoor shower with warm water were great perks. Loved the lights in the pool at night and having the pool heated made it perfect. Also, next time we don't even need to bring beach chairs because the ones in the shed were great! The house isn't "fancy" but it's cozy & rustic, has all the necessities, this is all about location!

New Year in St Simon

My siblings plus spouses look for a vacation spot each year. This was a great place to visit and the house was perfect. The house is steps from a beautiful beach, has an excellent pool (we had it heated and it was really nice!!) and plenty of room. As a group of adults it was nice to find a house with well stocked full baths. the kitchen had the basics with some extras. The location was .6 mile to the pier. We used a golf cart, but it was an easy walk or bike ride. I would highly recommend this property to a family or group.

I would highly recommend this house! My family has been vacationing on St. Simons every year for the past 12 years. We normally stay at a condo.......The Grande or The Beach Club. After staying at this house with a nice back yard, private pool, dining room, and less than the distance of a football field to the beach, I don't think I can ever go back to a condo. Just being able to park right in front of the house saves nearly an hour of time in unloading at the beginning of the trip and loading at the end, as compared to the condos mentioned above. We shared the house with my sister's family and we never felt cramped. The cost per couple ended up being right at what we normally spend for a condo. But, the condo doesn't offer nearly the amenities that this house does. Definitely plan on staying at this house again!

We stayed with our 3 young boys at the house over Feb school break. We had a wonderful time! The house is clean, with a nice beachy decor, nice beds, towels and linens and a terrific pool that my kids really enjoyed! There was a deck with beach views (partially obstructed). It was on a quiet street steps from the beach. My husband and I loved the master suite. Communication was really fast and easy (even when we had a question at 10:30 at night). I really highly recommend Ryan N Crystal's place and if we are back in St. Simon's, we will certainly be back!

WatercolorSSI was a perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of St. Simons Island. You can just leave your car in the driveway and walk to the beach and village. This home is perfect for family outings. Four bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms are a plus. The biggest plus is the heated pool which everyone enjoyed. Ryan N Crystal's place was fantastic - I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Clean and spacious, the house fit our group of eight with no problem, both in the sleeping and the socializing areas. Ryan was responsive to our requests and always reached out to remind us when / where to go if we had to pick up the keys or gather our belongings before checkout. The beach is super accessible, just a two minute walk away, and the porch has some nice views of the ocean and surrounding sleepy neighborhood. We didn't spend much time by the pool, but we did eat breakfast in the multiple outside seating areas, including the front porch, the side deck off the second floor, and the dedicated dining area outside of the living room. Overall, we had a great stay. The twin bedroom upstairs can get a bit light and warm early in the morning, so be sure to set the ecobee and perhaps bring a sleeping mask if you prefer to sleep in. Other than that, our stay was without blemish and exactly what we were hoping for. Looking forward to staying at Ryan N Crystal's in the future!

The beach house was as described with all of the advertised amenities: the private pool, across the street from the beach, pet friendly, multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. We could tell the property was freshly cleaned as the bathrooms still smelled of bleach when we checked in. We definitely enjoyed the patio area where we had our breakfast outside, and the pool had some much needed shade in the early morning and afternoon from a tree in the back yard. Pool was clean and well-maintained and was enjoyed by everyone in the family.

We had a great time at this island get-away! The house was clean, comfy and equipped with all the amenities, cable, Wi-Fi, grill and a HEATED POOL! We visited with our teenage kids and our friends and their teenage daughter. There was plenty to do in the area, beaches, ice cream, shopping and sight seeing. The location was excellent, a quiet location yet close to everything. No one wanted to leave. We hope to return hear again.

This was a perfect location for our recent trip to SSI. It is truly steps from the beach. So close that it was very easy to take a quick retreat to the house for snack or bathroom break. The house was perfect for our 9 guests. The pool was a welcome amenity to cool off in the afternoon after beach time. Unbeatable location! Beach access was super close and so easy! Also, the private pool was a wonderful amenity! Our family enjoyed playing in it between storms and in the evenings after coming in from the beach. Definitely a huge plus with kids! Ryan was a wonderful host who went above and beyond to make our stay great! He answered all of my questions promptly both before and after the trip and even had items shipped to the house before we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Being so close to the beach allowed us to take sunrise and sunset walks, the pool is wonderful, the yard is great for grilling, and the upper deck has a nice view. A beautiful beach house on a quiet street and really close to the shore - just as advertised. The pool and backyard patio area were spectacular! The beach was never crowed (our visit was in early August) and was wide with soft sand. Low tide goes way out, and we had fun exploring the exposed sand bars and finding creatures along the way. The view from the upstairs deck is amazing, especially during a clear night where you can see countless stars. St. Simons has everything you would need (and not overpriced) and we found no reason to leave except to explore neighboring Jekyll Island. Ryan was a very responsive and helpful host! Beautiful older beach house in the perfect location one row back. Super short walk to the beach just across the street and around one driveway and around a quarter mile to town makes everything walkable which is what we did once we parked at the property we walked everywhere. Backyard/pool area was wonderful and in warmer weather would have been a great place to swim and sun but was a great place for afternoon drinks in the chillier December weather. Only drawback is a small kitchen/cooking space so if you are bringing folks who like to cook together and hang in the kitchen it is a tight space. Other than that perfect for us. One small issue but the property manager was super responsive and got right on it.

From the location a few steps from the beach to the convenience of having a private pool at the back door, this cottage was a great place to relax and unwind. We loved the charm of this house built in the 1930s, and appreciated the modern conveniences you have added. This is the kind of place where one could easily retreat and write a book, or bring the family and friends to make a bunch of beachy moments. (We rode bicycles until the dark finally forced us home, chased crabs on the beach, ate our meals by the pool – fun stuff.) The customer service was prompt and personal. You made us feel like guests in your home and you wanted us to have a good time. SSI was such an inviting setting. It has become our “happy place†and holds many sweet memories for us. We will be back to Watercolor often.
Charming, comfortable beach home in great location

We found Watercolor to be even better than we expected. Our top priorities for a beach rental include proximity to the beach, comfortable beds, cleanliness, and good air conditioning. Watercolor had all of those things, and was also extremely charming, beautifully decorated, and close to the village. The house is definitely historic, but everything is up to date, so it's the perfect mix. We were all easily able to ride our bikes to restaurants and down to the pier and Neptune Park. Our 7 year old enjoyed riding over to Moo Cow Ice Cream (which we did multiple times). The beach access was right near the house, and the beach was not crowded at all. The kids loved the pool and the bunk beds! The owners are so pleasant and easy to work with. We are looking forward to returning to Watercolor again!

Cozy, quiet, and wonderful

We loved "Watercolor"-- the perfect name for this quaint beach home. The description of being 156 steps is right on. We loved the proximity to the beach and couldn't believe how private it was. We oftentimes had the whole beach to ourselves. The pool at the house was wonderful! A saving grace on our hot August vacation days. The temperature was always perfect in the pool. The master bedroom was gorgeous! Upstairs bedrooms got a little warm though and couldn't compare to the master, but we had plenty of space and the kids loved both kids rooms. We had some issues with the Wi-fi cutting in and out, but upon calling the management company it was reset promptly for us each time. The owners did a really great job making this feel like home for anyone lucky enough to rent it.

The house was clean, very roomy, comfy and equipped with all the amenities; cable, Wi-Fi, grill and a HEATED POOL! We visited with our teenage kids and our friends and their teenage daughter. There was plenty to do in the area, beaches, great restaurants, ice cream, shopping and sight seeing. The location was excellent, a quiet location yet close to everything. The beach was right out the front door. No one wanted to leave. We hope to return here again.
Property That Has Everything a Family Could Want or Need and MORE!

From the moment we crossed the threshold of Watercolor vacation rental property, our family fell instantly in love and felt the stress melt away. In short, we felt at home. It was so obvious the owners took great thought in every aspect of what a family would want and need and took great pride in making it a peaceful and tranquil getaway. Every room is beautifully decorated with the most updated and tasteful colors and decor. Our family of 6 had plenty of room to spread out, yet feel intimate when we would come together for meals in the dining room or out on the patio, hang out in the family room or gather by the pool. We loved that we could walk to the beach and didn't have to pack everything up and drive. If we forgot something or if someone wanted to go back to the house, they simply walked a few steps. With the exception of folks casually walking the beach at low tide, this section of exquisite beach felt completely private to us. Our family enjoyed riding bicycles around the quaint town of Saint Simons (yes, there were bikes provided for everyone in our family- parents and kids alike!), walking to the local ice cream parlor and shopping and dining out in the village. Afterwards, we enjoyed swimming all evening in the private pool which lit up with gemstone colors at night. These owners thought of everything a family could want or need for their stay: plenty of fresh towels and linens, washer/dryer, modern cookware and dishes, a gas stove, dishwasher and large refrigerator (all brand new, stainless steel), an outdoor grill, high-speed internet, and flat-screen TV's with cable television viewing. All seven beds were extremely comfortable for every member- especially the California King European-style platform bed with memory foam mattress in the master suite. Everyone had an incredible rest for the week and our family came away feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and most importantly- reconnected! Thanks to the careful attention to detail the owners provided, Watercolors was the little slice of beach heaven our family was looking for and owners Ryan and Crystal were extremely gracious and kind. They answered any questions we had and checked to make sure our family had everything we needed. We've stayed at other beach properties before, but none compare to amenities and overall pleasant experience of this one. If your family is looking for a perfect and private getaway with no worries of what you'll need away from home, this is it!
