Golden Isles Arts & Humanities is pleased to host the powerful work of artist Cullen Peck and her new series entitled Mytholgies. The exhibit will open on First Friday October 2, 2020 from 5-8 p.m. in the Millie Wilcox Gallery located in the Ritz Theatre in Downtown Brunswick.
Cullen Peck is a contemporary figurative artist born in Atlanta Georgia. Although drawn to visual arts throughout her youth, it was not until a minor in studio art at New York University that she began to take her craft seriously. She moved to Florence, Italy, and studied with modern Renaissance master Alan Pascuzzi before moving on to study painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze. While her work has moved away from traditional techniques, it is still deeply influenced by Italian Renaissance proportions and iconographies. Cullen has only recently returned to the United States from Tuscany and has begun to explore more conceptual and personal work in the past year. This new series, Mythologies, is reflective of her origins as an artist working in Florence.
Join Cullen Peck and Golden Isles Arts & Humanities on October 2nd for First Friday from 5 to 8 pm. Patrons to the Ritz Theatre are asked to wear masks and practice safe distancing for the benefit of all. The exhibit will remain on display through November 20, 2020. Gallery hours are Tuesday – Friday 9 am to 5 pm. and during performances and events. Admission to all art exhibits in The Wilcox Gallery at the Ritz Theatre is free. In addition, an online version of the event will be available through Golden Isles Arts & Humanities social media sites.
