The second concert in Golden Isles Arts & Humanities’ summertime concert series, Sounds by the Sea, is The Second Chance Band.
The Second Chance Band out of Jesup Ga. began perfoming together in 2004 and has been having a beach of a time ever since. They have performed at many major events, including the Blessing of the Fleet, Jekyll Island Beach Fest, Liberty Fest and more. The South’s Premiere Beach and Soul band features 5 lead vocalists blending voices with 6 musicians playing bass, piano/organ, guitar, saxaphone, trumpet, and drums to create their own style of music. They effortlessly balance musicianship, poise and showmanship.
The concert takes place at Neptune Park on St. Simons Island directly behind the Casino building. The concerts take place from 7-9 p.m. and guests are encouraged to bring a picnic supper and a lawn chair or blanket to relax on.
New this year are online ticket sales for Sounds by the Sea which can be purchased at www.goldenislesarts.org or by calling 912.262.6934 and are only $12 for adults. Children ages 6 to 12 are $5, and under 6 years old are free. Patrons are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance.
