In the 1980s a local artist started carving tree spirits into live oaks around town. These tree spirits still remain intact today. In fact, they have started to add more around the island. You can take a nice walk around the city to find them all or you can even do a scavenger hunt to see who can find them all first. You can locate a map of the city as well as a scavenger hunt clue book at the welcome center. Be careful as you are searching for the spirits, as some are on private property.
