THE SPACE
This cottage has lots of character! Original wood work, hardwood floors and close proximity to the beach. With its own bedroom, Kitchen and Full Bath, outdoor patio, this cottage is private and perfect for a secluded get away.
This convenient cottage is close to everything near the beach and pier/village where you will enjoy local shops and restaurants which feature some of the finest Georgia seafood!
The interior offers a very comfy and open living room, separate bedroom, open to a kitchen and full bath.
In years gone by, families came to St. Simons to the beach and stayed in simple cottages... in beach towns where porch-sitting and strolling were activities at least as important as swimming and sunbathing. It is the luxury of simplicity. Located on the south end of the Island, St. Simons Pier Village district serves as the downtown social hub and is a popular destination for shopping, dining and gathering on the pier and nearby lighthouse, playground and picnic areas. Overlooking the ocean and Jekyll Island across the way, you'll find the St. Simons Lighthouse and Museum, Neptune Park with its ocean side pool and facilities, playground, miniature golf course, and an oak shaded picnic area, fishing pier, public library and theater.

Beach Gear Included!: This home offers beach gear such as beach chairs and beach towels FREE for your use! Bikes, carts, paddleboards and more are available for rent locally, discount included. There are no fees or surcharges attached to your reservation.
Pets: This is not a pet friendly home.
No Smoking: No smoking is allowed in the home, on the porches/patios/decks, or on the property in general.
Minimum Age: Must be 25 + to book, or age 30 + on GAFL weekend (last weekend in October) For GAFL weekend (last weekend in October), guests must be age 30 + or kids with their parents, no student groups. We cannot make exceptions for that weekend.
No Events: No events or parties. No overnight guests beyond the original booking group.

Communication was terrific. Cottage was nice and was great for 2 people for a short stay. Location was great (there was construction happening very close by but that would be temporary) in regards to restaurants and shops; also ocean was right across the street to see the sunrise and set each day.

We enjoyed our stay! Cute and cozy little beach cabin. Best part was super close proximity to the beach. Also walking distance or a super quick drive to restaurants. Unfortunately there is currently some very loud construction at the school next door, which we learned of when we arrived. If it wasn't for that would have been a very quiet and relaxing place to stay.

It was what I expected. Which is a good thing. I cook a great deal so the kitchen was not perfect but that was not the fault of the kitchen in this unit. Must say I loved the little toaster oven. We did go out to eat and only would take a table outside. It was hit or miss on mask wearing. I have a general understanding of this areas take on mask wearing but I was a bit disappointed in a few of the local businesses. But on the flip side others were just fine. We both have been vaccinated so that made it a bit easier to be around people that didn't wear masks when inside. I did my best to avoid them. Will we be back? The answer is no. We certainly enjoyed our week but we just want to explore other places.

Cozy little hideaway

Shares a lot with the main house, however there's enough vegetation in between the two buildings that you still have ample privacy. It's within easy walking distance of the pier and The Crab Trap. Beach access is right across the street. The house itself was clean, comfortable, and perfect for the two of us. The only real negative is that the wifi was unreliable and slow, however we didn't come to the beach for the internet so it doesn't warrant subtracting from our overall rating. It's worth considering for anyone who comes here for a working vacation, though.

Cozy Place & Great Location*

Clean Place, Great Location, and easy Check-In! The only issue that we had was the internet access in the house was great for the TV but the Wi-FI was either non-existent or very slow. But thanks to Ali at the Property Management Co we received an iPhone hot spot to link to the internet. Not at the speed that we would expect at a nice VRBO property but adequate. We would definitely stay here again if these inconveniences were fixed. Again great place, location, and very clean!
Cottage stay

The cottage is very cozy. Decorated in a French Provincial style. The kitchen is all brand new with stainless appliances. The induction stove works great and, although, the oven is a countertop, it has the latest technology and is very versatile. There is a table in the kitchen but not really purposeful for breakfast as the space doesn't allow for chairs. The cottage doesn't have any tabletops for dining so perhaps a collapsible bench under the loveseat would be a thought (if such a thing exists!!). There are so many great restaurants that it's not really an issue. The pictures you see online make the main room look a little deeper than it really is and, as long as you are prepared to be close to one another and mindful if there are different sleeping schedules, it wasn't an issue. The bed is so comfy. The walls have been redone with light wide wood planking which adds brightness. The screened-in porch is furnished with rod iron and deep cushions. I might suggest a narrow side table by the porch chair and a small corner table in that space as well. The closet is large and it would be a good idea to add some decorative hooks for miscellaneous items. There is a school right next door and the children play outside as well as in an after school program. I like the sound of children laughing so we kind of enjoyed it. All and all it's a true cottage stay. Being in the travel profession, I've experienced a lot of different settings. The beach access is literally across the street. It has a unique carriage house feel. St Simons is such a fabulous island and this arrangement fits right in.

The house was smaller than we expected but made it a bit of an adventure. It was well organized and equipped with all the modern conveniences of home. The location was close to town and a very short walk to the beach. Staff were helpful and friendly. My husband left his Navy Veterans hat and housekeeping found it and will be shipping to us on Monday. So thankful for honest people. We enjoyed our 3 nights, way to short of a stay.

My husband and I enjoyed our time at Ryan's guesthouse. It was quaint and in a great location- one block off the beach and a half-mile from the downtown Village Pier area. It was a perfect location for walking everywhere. Ryan was responsive to our questions and accommodated us on short notice. A couple tips for the house if you want to eat/cook in- 1) the silverware is located in the drawer in little kitchen table...we didn't find it until after we bought disposable silverware. 2) the stovetop is a smart stove so only certain types of pots/pans will work with it. The location is PERFECT! Only a block from the beach and a few blocks from town. My husband and I walked to town everyday ... location doesn't get much better. This little cottage is the PERFECT beach stay for a couple. My husband and I traveled to Saint Simons for our honeymoon. We knew the house was close to a beach but wasn't sure what the access of the beach was. When we arrived, we found out that the beach was directly across the street. This studio-style Guest Cottage was located behind a main house with a pool in between the two rentals. We made minimal contact with the renters in the main house, but shared a driveway. The beach was a very short walk away; if you walk down the driveway, across the street, & ~150ft down seventh st., you'll arrive at 7th st. public beach access. All of the appliances in the cottage are brand new (fridge, microwave, toaster oven, two burner stovetop, mini dishwasher), and there was a coffee pot with filters and ground coffee available when we arrived. There was also salt and pepper, dishwasher detergent (& other cleaning supplies), and enough toilet paper and paper towels for our 3 night stay. Overall we had a very pleasant experience at the guest cottage and would stay here again.

Very cute little cottage. I emphasis "little" because it is much smaller than it appears in the online photos! Not much room to move around in the main room. The location is great... beach access is right across the road. Landscaping and pool around the "main" cottage is pretty, although there are no views of anything out the windows of this unit. It was hard to regulate the temperature inside. The ac would blast cold air, then when it shut off it would get hot in a hurry, then repeat the cycle of cold/hot. So we were either freezing or hot! Overall though, a nice place to stay for a short visit.

Absolutely adorable decor bordering between cozy vintage and beachy executive. Quiet location less than 2 minutes to public beach access and a ten minute walk to the edge of the Village. Very comfortable suite with a screened in porch for enjoying the ocean breezes, an ample closet and kitchenette, plus very comfortable bedding and a smart TV for ensuring Netflix and chill can keep going even at the beach. No complaints about the cottage whatsoever - just wish the neighbors in the unit in front of us would park in the obvious parking area by their unit and not the actual driveway (making it nearly impossible to drive in and out)! ?? Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Excellent experience! This spot was perfectly situated a short walk to the beach and just close enough to the village shopping and restaurants. I was in town during the summer school hours. I can see that the location next to a school might be a deterrent if you are looking to sleep in during the school year. However, as an early riser, I had no issues at all. Great place for me, and I'll certainly be back!

This place was great! It met the needs of my girlfriend and I perfectly for the relaxing trip we wanted. The beach is literally across the street, and some pretty fantastic fried chicken is only a couple blocks walk, next to the ice cream place! Shopping and other dining is only a couple blocks further. It's private, the A/C worked very well, and we were not disturbed once by anything outside. I highly recommend!

So our stay was nice...great location. Guests should know there is a school playground directly behind the cottage so sleeping in during school months will be tough. Odd mix of furniture but it worked. Owners need to provide a spot to clean sand off from beach. The place was clean. Everything worked. Had to buy hangers. Overall we liked it. We are older and pretty mellow so it was fine for us and looking forward to going back..
