Water's Edge is a 5.5 bedroom beach house in the sought-after East Beach area on St Simons Island - it's a short walk to the best stretch of beach on the island, has a private pool and poolside cabana, and beautiful views of the marsh.
We're located on Ocean Rd, making us 2 blocks from the beach access point on 6th street.

THE SPACE
The back yard is a poolside paradise including a large pool cabana - lay out in the sun or enjoy the shade. If you can toss a bean bag, try out our corn hole tournament area. We installed artificial turf around the pool so there'll be no grass clippings. The pool can optionally be heated for a charge of $75/day.
Inside, the floor plan includes 3 bedrooms on the main level and 2 bedrooms upstairs.
* Master Bedroom - main level, king bed, HDTV with premium Comcast package, and private en suite bath. The en suite bath features dual vanities in carrara marble and a walk-in shower. Private French door exit to the deck and pool.
* "Grammie's Room" - main level, king bed, beautiful marsh views. The bathroom just outside Grammie's room also has dual vanities in carrara marble, with a shower/tub combo.
* "Lily's Room" - main level, off the kitchen, queen bed, shares the full bath with Grammie's Room.
Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms:
* Han's room - king bed and marsh views.
* J&J's room - queen bed and pool views. This bedroom also has a huge closet that contains a set of bunk beds for the kids.
We are located in East Beach, the tip of St Simons Island known for great beaches, views, and quiet streets. This is an ideal place to bike and walk when you're not at the beach or by the pool. Photos taken in 2020.

Why Stay on East Beach:
The stretch of beach along the ocean side of St. Simons Island is known as East Beach. A quant neighborhood of single-family homes begins at the access point of the U.S. Coast Guard Station at the northern tip and ends at the southern point of Gould's Inlet by access of Bruce Drive, which runs down the center of East Beach. The Coast Guard Station houses the present home to the World War II Home Front Museum.

Beach Gear Included!: This home offers beach gear such as beach chairs and beach towels FREE for your use! Bikes, carts, paddleboards and more are available for rent locally, discount included. There are no fees or surcharges attached to your reservation.
Pets: This home is dog friendly with $200 pet fee, 2 dogs max. Unfortunately we can't host breeds known to insurance carriers as 'vicious', please ask if you're not sure.
Heated Pool: This property offers a heated pool option. The cost is $75/night+tax and can be added up to 48 hours before arrival. Let us know if you'd like to heat the pool!
No Smoking: No smoking is allowed in the home, on the porches/patios/decks, or on the property in general.
Minimum Age: Must be 25 + to book, or age 30 + on GAFL weekend (last weekend in October) For GAFL weekend (last weekend in October), guests must be age 30 + or kids with their parents, no student groups. We cannot make exceptions for that weekend.
No Events: No events or parties. No overnight guests beyond the original booking group.

Pool Party at the Beach

Great place for a relaxing vacation! The house was comfortable and had all we needed. The staff responsive and answered all our questions. Walk to beach was easy and in a shaded area. We did rent a golf cart though as we had an infant and elderly grandparent with us. The best part- the POOL! We had a great time swimming in the pool and relaxing around the cabana. Close to parks, shops, grocery stores, and restaurants when we wanted to go out. Highly recommend!

When we arrived we could not find the bean bags for the corn hole game. I contacted Alex at Lighthouse Vacations and he had some delivered in less than 24 hours. Also the pack & play provided was not in great condition and we didn't feel it was safe for our grandson to sleep in. Again, I contacted Alex and within a few hours he had a brand new pack & play delivered to the rental house. This is the best customer service we have ever received with a vacation rental! The house was the perfect set up for our 6 adult 1 child group. The second floor with 2 bedrooms and a full bath was perfect for our daughter, her husband and little one. We plan on going back to Saint Simons Island and will definitely go thru Lighthouse Rentals! Our son also got engaged to his beautiful girlfriend while we were there. It was a wonderful week!

This beach house was absolutely amazing. It had everything from bikes, chairs, pool toys and all amenities inside as well. Dishes, pots and pans, coffee maker, toaster, Keurig, microwave, washer & dryer all provided. It was clean, beautifully decorated and very inviting. Ryan, the property manager, was very nice and accommodating and I would highly recommend this rental property if you plan on visiting St. Simons Island; I assure you, you will be very pleased and will want to return. This is a perfect property for those looking to be close to the beach and have an amazing pool all to yourself. It was clean, updated, huge and comfortable. The photos don't do it justice. The pool cabana makes you feel like a VIP at a beach resort. We had 7 people staying here and had one bedroom we never even used! The kitchen has everything you need to cook with newer appliances. We will be back!

What a time for our womens trip! The house is beautifully fit for 12 with comfortable beds, a heated pool that we couldn't get enough of, and open space in the living room and kitchen area to gather. Our basic needs were met with prompt response time from Ryan which made the trip run smoothly. We rented golf carts during our stay to make it easier on ourselves to get over to restaurants, beach, shopping etc. so I would definitely recommend doing that while you're here! The location is good with the marsh out front which makes for a pretty view and it was easier to get over to the beach with the golf cart to park (maybe 3 minutes). Will be happy to book anything with Ryan in the very near future!

Our family had a great vacation at St Simons, and enjoyed some features of Waters Edge very much, especially the pool and cabana area. However, the rental did not feel like a home, and many features that any home owner would install for them selves were absent, such as 1. lighting over the dining table, coat stands, racks or hooks or closet in the hall for outer ware, 2. hooks in bathrooms for towels 3. a tea kettle, and large enough pots and pans for cooking for as many guests as the house has beds for sleeping 4. art and some professional or personal decorating features that make a house a home 5. instructions for some of the appliances such as the dish washer which was very difficult to use The staff at Lighthouse was excellent in responding to all of the problems we needed to be fixed and needs we had, and we appreciated the timeliness and their professional assistance when we called with problems.

We had a wonderful vacation. The house was spacious and had easy access to the beach. We did rent a golf cart and brought along our bikes. The house supplies beach chairs and a wagon as well as pool floats. The kitchen met all of our needs as we cook often while at the beach. Alex from Lighthouse was very attentive to our questions and needs. Definitely recommend a stay at 1808!
Great Location, Great Pool, Plenty of Room

We all really enjoyed this house! We had a few minor issues, but all were addressed by property management quickly. The tub clogged, but they came same-day to repair and replaced the broken iron. The house had a great layout for our extended family. The kitchen was nice and spacious and stocked with most everything you could need to cook. Aside from the floor being really creaky and the floors a bit uneven / bubbly, we thought it was a great house. I only mention the floors because if anyone woke up early, anyone sleeping downstairs was aware. The floors were loud! Also, we'd stay here again but rent a golf cart. The walk to the beach was fine for adults but a bit of a haul for our 4, 6, and 7 year olds in the group. Overall, this really suited us and our needs and was great for the price!
Family Vacation Fun

A great family vacation home! The pool with cabana provided much relaxing family fun. Beds were comfortable and really appreciated the 3 king size beds and the extra beach chairs and pool toys! Also appreciated the start up supplies of toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, dishwashing detergent and plenty of liquid hand soap. It would be good to have a larger frying pan with a lid and another casserole dish. Not sure if you can correct this but we ended up with an overflow of garbage bags in the outside garbage can and it was collected once during the week while we were there. The house is located in a great beach neighborhood one block from the 6th street beach access and also within walking distance to the inlet. Definitely plan to return next year.

The Lighthouse was absolutely fantastic! Location was great! Just a couple of blocks from the beach and across from the beautiful marsh. The kids enjoyed watching the cranes in the marsh each morning from the bedroom window. And 5 minutes away from the best BBQ in the south! The house was spotless and ready for our family to enjoy. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, bakeware, plates, utensils, coffee maker, really most anything you could possibly need. Our favorite place was the heated pool and cabana, the pool was like stepping into a warm bath. The beds were clean and very comfortable. Plenty of space and bedrooms for our small party of five. Ryan was very detailed with communication, quick to respond to any questions and had great tips for island shops. Definitely recommend the Lighthouse for a relaxing and fun stay in St. Simons!

We had 7 adults and a pup stay for a long weekend and it was fantastic. Check-in was easy and the house was professionally cleaned. The pool is fantastic and the location was perfect. It isn't SUPER close to the beach, but would be easy with a quick gold cart or car ride. We had 2 minor issues (dishwasher and bed) and messages were immediately responded to and someone was sent out to address them right away. Will be back!

We really enjoyed our stay, it was a much needed get away for our family. Loved that we could bring our dogs. St. Simons is a wonderful vacation destination and the home is in a great location. The neighborhood was great for walks along the marsh and was not far to the beach. I would suggest either renting a golf cart or bringing a cart with you to transport belonging for a beach day. There is a decent walk from the paved road, beyond the dunes to the beach. That said the beach is wild and beautiful. We enjoyed having the pool in the yard for the kids to take a quick swim early in the morning or just before bed. Would suggest bringing or for the hosts to add food storage in the kitchen. Bring a sleep mask if you are sensitive to brightness, the house is full of natural light but during our stay the master was very bright by 6:30 in the morning. Also need more beach towels.

We ABSOLUTELY loved our stay. The house is newly renovated and in really good taste - very clean and modern. The kitchen has EVERYTHING you need.. Its located just a short drive to the Beach.. (the public Beach parking Is within a 3 minute drive). Pool nice - kids had a blast. Communicating with Ryan was so easy - he answered every email in minutes. Check-in was a breeze - and it was reassuring when the house manager picked up her phone right away the morning of our arrival to give us instructions. Spacious house with a great pool and cabana! Just enough decor to give it a beach feeling. There were eleven of us so being able to enjoy being inside and outside was a plus. Just one suggestion if it is possible. Maybe a larger dining table and chairs as it accommodated 8 and there were 11 of us so we could not all eat together at night and in the summer it is usually too hot to eat on the deck. We had no issues that had to be taken care of and had a wonderful fun family vacation. Appreciated the extra beach chairs to use!

Some minor issues with the house which were addressed. For amount of money paid for the property for the week, heated pool should have been included instead of paying for daily usage. Overall, not a bad place to stay.

We escaped the craziness in Atlanta during a very stressful time. This truly was an escape. We have ridden our bikes morning, afternoon and night. The beaches were closed during our stay due covid-19, but we still had the time of our lives. We enjoyed the heated pool and cabana so much.

We rented this house to stay in the week of our daughter's wedding for 9 of us. It was perfect. Three bathrooms each with double sinks were essential for 6 bridesmaids ! Tons of room. All of the bedrooms were a good size. The kitchen had everything we needed. And the pool was great for the father of the bride who was outnumbered . We are a blended family and each have 3 kids from our first marriages. This house is perfect for large families. Everyone had their own bed. The house was fully stocked in the kitchen with utensils, plates, glasses, pots and pans, etc. Ryan is super quick to respond . We decided we wanted to have the pool heated and we reached out to him and he had the heater turned on in five minutes. The pool and backyard area is very nice and wonderful for the family to hang out. My kids loved the pool. The house is sparkling clean and in a great location. We hope to return and would recommend this home to families and to rent from Ryan as he truly is a super host!!

Perfect location...a couple mins drive to the village and all the great restaurants. Check in was a breeze and Ryan was a great host. It was very spacious and beds were comfy. House was nice, but minimally stocked...i had to go buy more towels because we had a house full and there werent enough bath towels. I want to say there were 6-8 towels total for 10 guest. Overall was a great experience, great price, and I would book again.

This is a great house, perfect for family gatherings. The walk to the beach is close and the cute downtown is close. It's good to bring the kiddos. There's lots of bed space, a pool and a deck. If you are a big cook, bring your own pots/pans and casserole dishes. The pans in the kitchen are limited. But everything else is there. Given the size and location of the house, it was a great value!

We stayed at Water's Edge for a long weekend while we were in town for a wedding. The house was great -- we had 10 adults and were very comfortable. The kitchen has all the essentials and the beds were extremely comfortable (which is not all that common for rental properties in my experience). We sat by the pool both afternoons and the beach was a short walk away. Ryan was very easy to communicate with and resolved the only minor issue we had incredibly quickly. I recommend this property and would definitely stay here again in the future.
